Who can apply for this visa? Your child attends an independent fee-paying day school who is on the list of student sponsor  in the UK and meet the other eligibility requirement.


How long does the application take? 

It takes about 3 weeks and sooner if you use super priority service  from outside of the UK. In the UK, the application can be processed within 24 hours under Super priority service, otherwise, the standard service, the process time is 8 weeks, 


How much do I need to pay? 

A Parent of a Tier 4 child visa costs £516 if application made from outside of the UK. in the UK,  the application fee will be higher, £1,033 for the standard service,

£1,533 for the priority service, £1,833 for the super priority service.


How long can I stay on this visa? 

This visa usually lasts for either 6 or 12 months. After that, you can get extensions for 12 months at a time until your child reaches 12 years of age. 

You’ll be given a less than 12 months  and will not be able to extend that visa if your child is going to be 12 years old  in the next 12 months or finish their final year at school in the next 12 months. 


Can I switch to another visa category in the UK? 

You cannot switch to a different visa category. 


Can I work or study when I am on parent of Tier 4 Child visa?

No. you can get paid  work or study in the UK. 


Can I bring my family members to the UK?

Yes, you can. They must apply separately.


What documents should I provide? 

  • a current passport or other valid travel identification 
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test results if you’re from a listed countries required.
  • have money to support you and your children or have relatives or friends that will support you in the UK.
  • have booked (or can afford) travel to leave the UK at the end of your stay
  • have a permanent home outside the UK.



How much do I need to pay for an extension? 

Yes, if your child is still under 12 years old.
